We must act now to reduce our impact on the climate and focus on areas where we have the greatest opportunity to make a difference.

Globally, our system owns more than nine million coolers and vending machines. For that reason, sustainable refrigeration is the cornerstone of our climate protection efforts. We're striving to improve energy efficiency in cold drink equipment. Here in the Philippines, we will ensure that our new coolers are equipped with energy-saving technology that reduces energy consumption by up to 35% compared to our existing coolers.

From power in our plants to trucks that deliver our products, we will work with our partners to use the best possible mix of energy resources. In the Philippines, we're piloting the use of biomass fuel in our operations. In Meycauyan and Calasiao we already have a biomass fueled furnace that heats water to make steam, generating electricity and steam for our production. The biomass fuel uses spent rice hulls.
